How do normie ratings work?

I get the ltn, mtn, and htn thing but what is actually considered average. Wouldn't mmtn be considered average since it straight in the middle, while anything in the ltn section be below average? How does this stuff actually correlate to real life ratings?

majority of people are in the ltn range
above average is mtn and up
in your school there are mostly ltns and mtns, with a few htns
you will rarely ever see a chadlite irl
same thing goes for chad

ltn is average and if u pay attention irl most people u walk by everyday are ltns

hltn - lmtn is average

10 does not exist, since it should be mathematically perfect
