How do people make friends at the gym

Ive been going to a pretty hardcore bodybuilding gym for 2 months and i have yet to speak to anyone except for asking how many sets someone has left etc.
Do people actually make friends at these places or is that something i made up. Im there 5 times a week and im one of the strongest and biggest people there in my age group so its not like im one of those scrawny kids that no one takes seriously. Im quite social in other enviroments and i dont have a hard time making friends but here it seems impossible.

I mean personally for me i dont have a soft boner as often as i used to and i dont wake up with morning wood for some reason its different depends on your estrogen levels and what you taking

I dont do cardio at the gym and the only people i see on the treadmills are bodybuilders that are 30+. Not that i dont want to befriend them but i just dont think they want to talk to me

Random people come up to me and tell me have a good day in U.S

Aha, I live in a small village i think this would only happen if you live in a city. The routes i run are always empty

i think its easier if you do calisthenic, people will come ask you how to do certain skill
i never met new people in gym, i met like 10 new people in the park doing calisthenic, have a group chat with them, not close friend but at least enough to socialmaxxing
