How do some asians have insane cheekbones but recessed maxillas?

I have heard on here that cheekbones are related to your maxilla, but how come some asians with literally flat face and recessed maxilla to ganges can have the most insane cheekbones ever then?

I have a decent set of cheekbones and forward grown jaw but i have a flat maxilla

You can have a plate face where your cheekbones are wide but your maxilla is touching your brain
or
You could have a very forward grown maxilla but a very narrow face
