How do they remove the step off in vertical reduction genioplasty

I would like to do a genioplasty and can i know how they prevent step off when they reduce vertical height?

they can just shave it but if it's a small movement then it shouldn't matter too much, not really noticeable+ gives the mandible to chin a nice contour and transition from the side

depends on several factors, i.e mandibular body mass after shaving(differs from person to person obv), soft tissue quality, aging

also see how despite the step offs that can be seen skeletally, it's not noticeable irl

ofc it's still dependant on your starting base and the movements that are performed but you get the point
