Look into genetic algorithms, two low objective function combinations can lead to a high objective function one. It’s just the combination of inputs being combined leading too much better results.

Notice how he got his Moms eyes and jaw and his dads nose and lips. He got very lucky.

Genetics are random, random feautures being mixed and modified in a random order, you also get the features from your grandparents. Having good looking parents doesnt mean shit, the only thing that is really an advantage geneticaly that passes on is height, maybe eye, skin and hair color, other than that you will never know what kind of face genetics would ramdomize.
