How do you end a conversation?

How are you supposed to end a conversation with someone? Do you just turn around and slowly walk away or are you supposed to say something like "nice talking to you". How do you know when the conversation is over with them? Do you wait for them to stop talking first then initiate and say "bye" or do you start walking away first and then do it? Do you wave or do anything after you're done talking to them while you're turning around or just end it there?

You bring your hand up and forward in front of them and prepare your hand for a handshake or a fist bump. You need to figure out whether you'll shake your hand or do a fist bump well under a second without screwing it up ideally.
