How do you fix a class 2 malocclusion?

I went to an orthodontist and im pretty sure they said i have a class 2 maloclussion. Between my upper and lower teeth there is a gap but it aint thaaaaat big of a gap. Looking at my side profile my lower mandible is heavily recessed though. How do you fix that recessed mandible? The gap imo is like 1mm or smth it aint that bad. I also dont know if BSSO alone would solve it or if i also need a genioplasty, how could I tell?

I also dont know about the fact if i do 1mm bsso to fix my overbite then i still would look recessed so i would need to get bimax. but then after getting bimax my chin would still be recessed, yet when im jutting then my chin isnt recessed.

I dont get it im overwhelmed can someone help me please

Lets say my bite is fine: My lower jaw looks recessed so i would get bimax and push the maxilla and mandible wiht X mm forward. The problem is that both have been pushed forward with the same distance, there wont be any difference and i will still look recessed.
If we push the lower jaw more forward than the maxilla i would not look recessed but end up with a shitty bite (edge to edge bite probably)

Thats what doesnt make any sense?? how do i fix my recession????

having an overbite does not nescasarily mean that your maxilla's positioning is correct. From what im hearing your maxxila seems to be heavily rescessed and your mandible even more. Did your ortho take any measurements? I had an xray done and my maxila is 0.6 mm off the norm and my manbile is around 3-4mm off the norm resulting in my horrible class 2 and rescsed jaw. I thik bimax would do you the most good

If u have ur ortho look at ur scans they can figure out how much ur teeth r tipped back to make up for ur underbite n see how big ur overbite truly is or the difference in relation between ur upper and lower jaw

That’s y when before u do jaw surgery they decomp ur teeth

They look at where ur teeth are and then where they should be n calculate the difference

It’s like if u have a narrow palate ur teeth on ur lower jaw have tip in to meet with the teeth on the upper jaw to form ur bite

So if u were to have segmental to fix that n widen ur palate u would untip those lower teeth n put them in a place that would meet where the upper teeth should be n will be after surgery

N then also like u said there’s only a mm gap between ur upper and lower teeth so u can only bring ur lower jaw forward one more than ur upper one but if u were to angle those upper teeth more forward n outward where they should be if ur lower teeth weren’t so far back due to ur mandibular recession u would create a bigger gap and then have more room to move ur mandible forward
