how long will it take to start lucid dreaming?

For me, it took 3 months to lucid dream on a consistent base. But i probably experienced my first lucid dream after doing it for like 2 weeks.

does it feel realistic?

It felt pretty real, as real as a scary dream, but not so real that i actively try to have them. Once I took some dph and melatonin before bed and i had some crazy lucid dreams.m unintentionally, very realistic i thought i had woken up and was hallucinating but i was just dreaming that i was in my bed in my room, then it got wacky.
