How do you measure with calipers accurately?

Trying to measure byzygo width with calipers but it seems like guess work because it doesnt extend to my face so im not sure what it really is. How are you supposed to measure? Also are you meant to do it on inches or millimeters side?

No zoom, its equally as accurate if yk how to do the math for example us calipers vertically to find the size of ur nose tip to eyebrows, then set that as size = 1

Say its 2 inches u can compare how mucj of those nose lengths is any part of ur face then say its like 6.4 noses long

Then 6.4x2 = 12.8
