I believe this thinking is incorrect. Just because you don't currently have that life at the young age of 19, doesn't mean you never will. Everybody suffers, EVERYbody. People suffer different amounts throughout their life, some people have a very easy and pleasant life in their youth and then they become miserable as they age, others experience the opposite.

I like to think that it's simply my turn to suffer. I will be lonely and miserable for the time being, but life tends to compensate. Just be patient and embrace your situation, those people that you're jealous of will have their youth and, by extension, their happiness deteriorate rapidly in the coming years. Just make it through, there's probably a decent life in your future, nobody really regrets not giving up

I'm about to turn 21, will probably finish recovering from surgery at 22. Maybe I'm wrong, but I really feel the clock ticking.

I told myself this when I was in hs, that things will get better because life tends to compensate for those who have suffered, all I have to do is get through it. But it was the same story in college. In fact, my being behind because of hs made me even more behind in college.

I'm looking at my dad right now and he's been miserable since day 1.
