How do you take the most accurate videos/pictures?

rear view camera in front of a mirror? Rear view camera indoors w/outdoor lighting shining through the window? rear view camera indoors with overhead lighting?

I know irl with people who I see everyday I see them the exact same despite lighting or angle. But it might be bc I see them so much idk. One thing that bugs me in some rear view selfies and videos my face looks pretty compact which is nice but it could very well be lens distortion which widens out your face im pretty sure.

At least in my case mirror shows how i look like in 90%. In pics i look almost same with some asymmetries i dont notice in the mirror.
