How does a palate expander change face?

I read that it widens the palate. Here is before and after pictures from Google:

Does it do anything else? For example, does it affect cheekbones, jaw, lip width, nose, etc. I don't see such changes in the above picture, but maybe there are other pictures that show that, if so, feel free to post them.

It seems like the only difference is the cheek bones in those pictures. However, I looked at his other pictures:

If his 3/4 profile has changes in cheekbones, then we should see it in his frontal profile as well, but there is no changes to them in the above picture, so I'm not sure if it effects cheek bones. What do you think?

it's kinda hard to tell. yes, his cheekbones aren't more pronounced as before but at the same time his midface became a lot wider assuming his mandible didn't somehow shrink.

It all depends on what expander you use, what problem you have and if your sutures are fully fuzed or not. If your sutures are are fuzed it wont work. If you lack forward growth it wont work or atleast wont do much depending on the expander. However if you lack laterall growth, have a flat midface and your sutures are still open then you can except a change in the midface

Mse defently change cheekbones atleast if you have none. The ones who say that they saw a minor change in the cheekbones with MSE already have good cheekbones

I measured his midface, it was the same in his before and faster pictures. Are you sure his midface became wider?

Yeah ronalds eads sutures where fused. MSE is bone borne so it splits the suture

Every time I see this guy I don’t know what to think. I think he looked decent to begin with and now his masseters are way too big. Worse looking than before imo.

Thats a bad pic since he has long hair on that there but compared to videos i have seen of him before his cheekbones look more protruding altough something looks a bit of now

Even if you change cheekbone with MSE remember one thing that it's all about proportion:

When u widen ur maxilla, it also moves forward so cheekbones seems more recessed

But as the maxilla expand with MSE, cheekbone also

So at the end the ratio of your maxilla to cheekbone stays the same

That's why Bimax decrease OG curve (illusion of decreasing), cause ratio change
