I remember when I got fat, you dont actually notice it, you just see you.

Even when you look in the mirror your brain will downplay that you are fat and may even try to still see your six pack at angles.

However people around you will treat you like shit. And you will only know when you take a video and see yourself objectively in motion.

I have never been fat, but i have gotten belly due to inactivity mostly. It's gradual, so you never notice a difference until you see yourself in some older pictures or something.
Best indicative is your troursers stop fitting you and you are not in puberty anymore.
