Because a lot of the people are forced to join so they have no choice or else they get killed. Also if you are somewhat rich you need to get ties with a cartel for protection or else they or someone else will rob you

The average person in Mexico makes $150 a week if they’re lucky. That’s full time too. You start off small, doing small jobs on the side so your pay isn’t that much but it’s much better than the $150 you get as a civil person.

The cartel exploits poor people, people in survival, others are born to it but they often start in higher positions than people who get lured into the cartel.

In some gore cartel videos they often tell the victims for who they work for and how much they get paid and it’s always some fucked wage but that’s survival for you.
