tbh mental arithmetic is one of the things you can learn to do well quickly. It is mainly memorising timetables. Also I am very good at ignoring time limits which I feel gets rid of stress when doing tests.

I did the test a few times now and I can tell you how to get good at it (no zetamac for your face though)

- first of all you need to be able to add numbers from 0 to 100 -> practice addition only
- then you need to memorize the multiplication table for numbers between 1 and 10
- after that just practice, together with subtraction and division
- for the *11,*12 and division by 11 and 12 there are special "tricks", for division by 11 you first look at the number and estimate how many times 11 fits, then you only need to check the last digit e.g. 286/11 , 11 fits 20 times: 11*20 = 220 and the last digit is a 6, so you immediately know it is 20+6
- there are other tricks like for 154-98 = 56, you subtract by 100, then add 2 again

Very true tbh. I remember I used to calculate stuff in my head until around 9th or 10th grade when I was given calculators to use, even in exams. Nobody cares to solve this stuff mentally anymore, even the teachers (although they can). Calculus and algebra require a brain and most of the operations from those topics can't be performed all the time on a calculator if you regard in time and efficiency.
I reckon I would have got at least a 20 score if I had used pen and paper but some people say that you can't use pen and paper for this.
