Shower head filters are pure cope. One thing that works are those giant ion exchange water softeners that cost like 400 bucks bro. What can I do about this?

You're right.

They're expensive because they're functional and work. You can't do anything about it, besides save up and pay properly for what you're getting.

I heard activated charcoal water is good to drink. But shower heads, that's a different story. What's in your water? Aids?

I want to eliminate the calcium and magnesium ions
they make my water hard and are bad for the hair quality

I once showered everyday for 1 week at 2500 meters altitude and the water was super soft and my hair looked so good
why?
cuz it was soft water

Wear a hair net then, and wash your hair elsewhere. Just saved you 395$

Good point. Area has a lot to do with it.

If you had 500$ to choose between a water filter, and a shower head filter, opt for water.

Typical tap drinking water would benefit from certain filtration, mainly because you cannot filter out birth control related depositories, gross. Water should still have minerals in it, otherwise it's pointless drinking it.

Won't do anything you need an ion exchange setup to soften water.

Weddell Duo i might buy that, its affordable but just makes your water more clean, not more soft
