Most men are not Chad and struggle to date women because of their looks. These non-chad men are considered UGLY and disgusting by most women.

But also men don't judge people as harshly based on their looks, so they often think of themselves as good looking or handsome until they've lived enough and encountered enough consecutive rejection to realize that's not the case.

It's a biological fact. Men have lower standards. Women perceive most men as ugly and it's not the case with men. A man can be good looking enough to have male friends but not female friends.

My experience matches this, girls are much more likely to call some one ugly to their face.

Speaking out of experience, I see

A Dating Website ok cupid did a bunch of research on this, where women think most men are ugly and men think most women are at least average looking. This was back when ok cupid was one of the top dating sites, so they had a lot of data, and back then you rated every one else of the opposite gender on looks and personality separately.

You'd have to read a lot about evolution, or at least think about it, to understand it.
