How can someone just be confident when all of their life they where bullied and picked on and never had women interaction. If you have looks it's a self spiralling situation because your looks will allow you to get confidence due to the experiences you get treated with from the beginning of your life and once you have more confidence you are rewarded with more positive experiences so you just build natural confidence without even realising it too much. If you are starting with poor genetics then how does one obtain confidence and experience if they don't have resources to build that ,other than imagining how to be confided which is very improbable.
