This is my first time writing a thread on here, bare with me if some important details are missing, or its not worded the best
Also for the ones who care, im 16 turning 17 in october
I've always had a "big" nose, especially from the side, with a god awful bump, ive always hated and despised my nose and kept trying to hide it for as long as i can remember using glasses and cope methods so thats why I got it, but that is irrelevant to the thread
I've always had breathing issues and my parents always noticed it, i went to get a scan and I had a deviated septum, that was the main excuse I had to get nose surgery, I ended up convincing my parents to let me get a septorhinoplasty under the premise "it could get deviated again if the cartilage wasnt fixed as well", which is obviously just a pile of shit
For context, I live in egypt and the septorhinoplasty costed around 23.5k EGP (~462.34 USD)
PS, The before picture is a bit old, it was before i started taking care of myself and looksmaxxing, taken about ~7 months ago
Now, honestly the recovery was the worst thing ever, im currently one month post op, and its pretty alright now, thankfully i recovered fairly quickly and the doctor was awesome even tho it was incredibly cheap for the amount of work that he had to
The first day was genuine torture, the anesthesia was insanely strong, when I got out of the surgery, I was shaking and lips were twitching and my breath smelt like anesthesia (according to my mum atleast), I was barely able to walk and move without my legs shaking and almost giving out (icl, i was also trying really hard to seem like i wasnt in pain, and that it didnt fuck me up, i hate to admit it but i genuinely almost fell like 3 times because of it kek), survived off of nothing, didnt even drink water, and my throat hurt like hell (probably from the anesthesia tube)
Second day, It was worse, i had constant nosebleeds, i used to tear up alot, i dont even know why, voice was really raspy and throat still hurt, but less, i was a bit bloated too, but not much
Third day, i was INCREDIBLY bloated, for some reason, like I had the puffiest cheeks possible
I was genuinely miserable the entirety of the third day, but i started eating, and i survived off of soup for the rest of the day
Fourth-Seventh day, it got better gradually over time, less and less bloat
Then I took my cast off, and GOD I almost cried, I thought it was botched
Its not very visible but he didnt remove all of the stitches, u can see some of it at the tip of my nose, but those fell on their own after it by a couple days, this was when i was able to finally breathe again
PS, My nose isnt even big from the front, all of that was just bloated, injured and just genuinely fucked and it got smaller day by day, until it returned back to normal
Also I thought I should mention that the bloat made it seem like I had a bump and that added to my fears
I know its a terrible pic but its the only one i took, it was in the taxi right after I took the cast off
A week after I took my cast off (so about 2 weeks post op), I went to the doctor, got my nose cleaned and after that, I finally was able to breathe like i used to before the operation
It was incredibly uncomfortable the first week, I was beyond miserable, waiting for the day I'd take the splints out, and then miserable again for a week after it, thinking i was botched and forever ugly, and pretty much regretting it
Now looking back at it a month post-op, im still recovering and according to the doctor, im still kinda bloated, but ive never been happier with my sideprofile, I regret nothing and im absolutely glad I did it, obviously current me is the "after" pic you can find at the beginning of the thread, literally took it 40 minutes before i started writing this lmao
A final thing i wanna say, if you have the means to do a rhinoplasty, then go for it, it will change your life, and if anyone has any questions about specific stuff, ill be more than glad to answer them
