Will being lean make you look a lot more muscular/ improve your facial aesthetics? I'm like 20% rn (6'1, 88kg). I've been bulking since May and I might do a cut to drop down to 12% but I'm going through puberty so I'm kinda scared and don't wanna cut if u feel me.

dont get me wrong I get that you want to still look big/be strong in the gym but 20% to 10% will change your life, there is everything good to being lean whilst being bulked is the opposite, youll have a sick physique, good jaw, no bloat, abs 24/7 & girls will be mirin

Tbh I'm just scared I'll shrink/ lose size/ lose strength if I drop from 20% to 10% otherwise I'd be cutting

Cringe asf making fun of people's look on a LooksMaxxing forum 😂

Im 5'10 70kg lean (about 12%) i think I have a good balance between facial aesthetics and phsique. Good thing about being lean is people think you are heavier than what you are (people think im at least 75kg) but it could be due to wide shoulders, decent arms.

Bodyfat 1

You will look like a different person. Most of the men online complaining they get no matches off dating apps are like the guy on the left, 20%, maybe worked out for a few years, but no muscle definition, face covered in chub, no distinctive jawline etc.

Every one of those issues can be solved by dropping to a lower body fat %, around 10-12%.

Only women can get away with being pudgy in online dating. Men don't have that luxury.

So why don't more people do it?
Because the average person can't sustain losing more than 1% body fat a month, ~0,25% a week without extreme hunger or depression.

That would mean OP needs to diet for 10 months (almost a full year!) to have a facial definition close to the guy on the right.

Yes, 20% is okay. It's better than average, the average man in the west is considerably overweight. But it's not good looking. It's not fit. The visual, aesthetic difference between a 20% and a 10% is like that of a regular couch potato and an elite athlete!

I just need to lose 8 kg to go from 20% to 12%. If I lose 0.8kg per week (1% body weight) then it'll take my 10 weeks which is 2 months

It depends if you hold alot of fat on the cheecks/jaw/neck area if not its pretty cope for many especially for people with narrow face that already dont have much width to their face added by fat. The more ogree you look when fat the more likely of having a ascension when lean.

I don't know your height and weight, but a lot of average sized guys (say, 178cm, 80kg) need to go as low as 60kg to be a true 10% body fat with any lean muscle mass. People vastly underestimate their final weight.

That's why so many wrestlers, boxers etc. look incredibly light on paper but look big in real life. A lean 62kg at 10% body fat can look a lot bigger than a pudgy 82kg.

This guy (pic stolen from reddit) had to go from 80+ to 59kg just to be a relatively lean ~13% with visible abs.
He is literally 59 kilos here, and not super ripped (to be super ripped he would be ~53-55kg in the end)

I've always heard that being leaner makes you look DYEL/ smaller in clothes. I don't understand how being leaner will make you look bigger.

I'm 6'1 and 87kg. I'm probably around 20% body fat. I say this because I don't really have a belly or love handles and I have very slight ab definition when I'm flexing super hard.

Tbh I'm just scared I'll shrink/ lose size/ lose strength if I drop from 20% to 10% otherwise I'd be cutting

you can gauge this from how you look rn, im not natty so fair enough but when I was bulked at 20% I had arm veins, muscle defintion(better than most nattys who are leaner) and had proper muscle tissue like you could tell thats how I knew when I cut I wouldnt be losing much size at all, you need to remember your performance suffering in the gym isnt due to instant muscle loss but the lowered calories, being lean is always better, you are achieveing your highest possible potential facially so why not

how retarded as fuck are you if you're asking this water is wet tier question, what do you want to hear, that being high bodyfat is ideal?

Not important at all bro you just need to mcdonaldsmaxx and KFCmaxx and you’ll be swimming in pussy. Chicks love obese men

Just to offer an alternative point:

There's some studies showing that all the traditional indicators of attractiveness that looksmaxxers harp on (symmetry, harmony, dimorphism, youth) all correlate less to male attractiveness than simply your bodyfat %.

In fact, there was some discussion in those studies that posited all those other indicators of attractiveness are actually only attractive because they can fraud low body fat at higher body fat %s. In other words, big bones may only be attractive because they make you seem less fat than you are.

So there is actually some legitimacy to the idea that leanmaxxing is the most important looksmax. After all, muscle definition and striations, vascularity, hollow cheeks, jawline, slim waist and legs are all striking features for a reason.

It's important but 15% is lean enough for most people. It's mostly only people that already have good bones that get much of a gain sub 15%. Also there are people that actually go down in facial looks sub 15%.

You dumb faggot I'm asking how important it is not if it's important learn to fucking read

u kill urself in the gym, kitchen, office, restaurant, bar, club, bed all to be lean, yet as far as high value foids see it, there are only 2 body types for men:

1) anabolic, enhanced, superhuman/ God tier composition (0.0001% of men)

2) subhuman (everyone else)

meanwhile Lana Del Ray does this transformation, gets bigged up by men and women for not giving a fuck, AND writes a book called fucked my way to the top, where she talk about what an insane number of guys she fucked in the industry

Jesse what the fuck are you talking about

Leanmaxing is probably the most effective looksmax, and it doesn't cost anything. 10-15% BF is probably optimal for the vast majority of men.

Why do you say 10 months to get down from 20 to 10? Is 4 months possible?

Because non-pro athletes have a very hard time losing more than 1% body fat a month. Hunger issues and ghrelin hormone, leptin levels go all over the place the lower you go from 15% and you think about food all the time.

These pros who drop sub 10 for competitions, gorge on 10 000 kcal of pizza, hamburgers, chocolates and ice cream the moment their competition is over. It fucks up even people with top tier will power.

https://rucore.libraries.rutgers.edu/rutgers-lib/51572/PDF/1/

You can go from 20 to 10 in 4 months. Lots of HIIT, lots of calorie restriction
Whether you can sustain 10% after such a rapid fat loss is debatable, there is a very high chance the answer is no.
