How important is protein if someone doesn’t work out?

I’ve been starting to go to the gym recently and was curious, is protein that huge of a deal if someone doesn’t work out? Why or why not?

protein is still important even if someone doesn't work out because it plays a crucial role in some various body functions. it helps with tissue repair, enzyme and hormone production, immune function, keeps healthy skin, hair, and nails.

but if you dont workout that much you might not need that much protein compared to other gym bros who workout daily

protein is important but people overestimate the amount you need a lot. as long as you eat a lean protein source at least 2-3x a day, dairy, veggies (beans especially), complex carbs you'll easily reach your intake
