I feel like I’m living in a vacuum. I’m probably one of the most sophisticated people you’ll come across but other people crop me out of their field of vision unless they absolutely have to speak to me. The people I associate with (minus one) are all painfully lowbrow so I guess that means I’m seen to be on their level and I’m one of the leftovers of society. But I’m also ND and under 5’3”.

Seung-Hui Cho should be way more notorious than the Columbine duo for his kill count and using just one pistol but that isn’t the case.

Asian American men are in the best position they’ve ever been, much higher smv due to K-pop and other soft power influence. Unfortunately your biggest problem is being 5’2.5, this is a height at which people straight up do not recognize a man as human. East Asians in some places are even at the higher tier of attractiveness rn tbh.

The first and third sentences you said are true but at the same time I can’t shake the feeling that Northeast Asian guys in the current pop and media scene are seen (outside of East Asia) as backup options for people who can’t exactly fit into other spaces, you know what I mean? I know it’s not realistic but I’d rather other people be interested in 70s K-Rock than current K-Pop because the former is still predominantly of a Korean spirit (I think). And from personal observations a good deal of non-Koreans who are interested in Korean media, culture, and society carry a level of fetishism and condescension. Even some American Asians do because of inevitable self shame.

You’d be surprised at how k pop obsessed many middle eastern and south Asian women are in their respective countries. On an “objective” looks scale yeah East Asians are uniquely fucked for obvious reasons, East Asian women basically transform their entire face to look attractive, an opportunity not afforded to the men
