How is everyone so tall now?

When I’m walking outside like 70% of people are taller than me. Most of the women i see are taller than me they seem to be over 180cm and most of the men are over 183cm. I’m about 180cm and even though it's not considered a bad height i feel like a manlet on the street i don't know if i just live in a super tall area or what it is. all of the couples i saw all the men were over 190cm i did see one guy that was shorter than me with a girl that but the girl was fat and ugly is my perception off or has everybody just gotten super tall now?
