Even so called 'cheap areas' are expensive as fuck compared to similar standards of living in the 1990s

A £70,000 house in 1990 is probably the same as a £150,000 in 2023.

£150,000 for a detached 3 bedroom house is expensive as fuck. On british salaries you are taxed relentlessly not to mention cost of food, electricity, gas, weekly food shopping etc

It all adds up that unless you have a decent job you will not be able to afford even a 150k house. I certainly cannot afford that. I can't even afford to rent a flat LOL.

Yes London mogs all cities but places like Leeds aren't too bad. Newcastle (nice areas) are basically like a mini London.

If you want to live in London you'll only be able to afford a place in the ghettos there, and trust me they're worse than shitholes up north.

Most people want to live somewhere close to where they work though, so they don't have to commute 1hour+ every day.

Even living somewhere near a big city is unaffordable already. And that's where the jobs are.
