So, this is a serious thread. I gained about 5kg (about 10 pounds) in a month, but I didn't lose any leanness. In fact, my jawline looks more defined and my arms have more vascularity. I also started seeing my six pack in the mornings.

What could be the best reason for that? I didn't grow any taller. I didn't get shit ton of muscles (still got some, but not enough for them to weight 5kg). Where are those 5kg from?

@LooksOverAll @trendouche56 u guys high iq help me out here

I experienced exactly this, during the first 2 months of my steroid cycle. While I gained a ton of weight on the scale my lifts were going up in the gym, however my face still looked lean and I had somewhat visible abs (although I did gain a bit of fat/water weight in my midsection). Have your lifts gone up? If so it could be a combination of muscle gain and water retention. If you haven't worked out in a while and started again it could also be muscle memory (gaining back old muscle).

Maybe some sort of puberty or you're just not noticing the weight gain. When I gained 50 lbs, I thought my face looked the same but when I saw my relatives they all said I gained a lot of fat in my face. I still had visible abs because as I gained fat, I also gained muscle so they popped out more.

I train at home, but yeah, I haven't worked out in a while and I can do much more pull ups than before

Yeah I definitely gained a bit of fat too on my recent bulk. Fat can also be distributed throughout your body so sometimes it's hard to notice. My jawline was much sharper 2 months ago and my cheeks were hollower. But that's a sacrifice you need to make in order to gain muscle. That's why bulking/cutting works well.

If you were underweight and you gained weight without getting fat, this is normal. This is like what happens to people who are still growing in height who lift weights, they will gain weight without looking any different.

You didn't gain 10 lbs of muscle mass in a month, you only gained lean body mass, some of it is muscle, but most of it is water and some of it is fat. You can only gain 2 lbs of muscle per month at most in your first year of serious training.
