meanwhile he claims 5'6

did some research and his mom looks to be a normal ish height but shorter than him (maybe 5'2 or something). did something stunt his development or did he just get very unlucky

His dad is probably more like 6,1 or 6,2 realistically, when you're short, you tend to overestimate people's height by a few inches

might be mom genes. my dad is a 6'4 ogre giant and im 5'9.
