How long after bimax can you get hardware removed?

How long do people wait? Asking because I have a slightly asymmetric result and might shave down one side of the jawline to even it out

I was told at 9mos to 1 year you can get it done although there is really no point. If you get implants later on they can remove it but there is literally zero advantage.

Doesn't it prevent the metal from fucking up the jaw if for example you got a basketball (or anything of that calibre) to the jaw?

If anything removing the screws erodes it even more resulting in weaker bones
