How long does it take for tret to smoothen out acne skin

Been using tret for a few months now but I’ve had an acne breakout likely related to the weather change, I’ve been using more tret now and consistently everyday on the affected areas the pimples have tried out and begun clearing off but leaving hyperpigmentation. How long does it take for tret to completely clear out the area again. I have benzoyl peroxide but I know you can’t use it in combination with tret

wym u cant use in combination i do but wash my face every with it every 2 maybe 3 days and rest with water
