I wake up decently early (7 am) and have always struggled with getting enough sleep at night so I'm wondering what time I should aim to be asleep by. And also what I could do to possibly make this transition easier

probably at like 10, 9:30 maybe ig

You should focus on getting 8-10 hours of sleep since its optimal for someone thats 14. You should make sure to go to sleep at the same time every day and wake up at the same time every day for good efficiency. And if your talking about the transition lets say your going to sleep at 12:00 am start going to sleep 30 minutes earlier every day to make the transition smooth. go to sleep at 9-10pm

10-11pm

The most optimal sleep time for your age is between 8-10 hours because you are still going through puberty and your body needs to grow. Sleeping earlier and waking up earlier also helps with your circadian rhythm. Going to bed by 9-10pm would be optimal for you. You increase magnesium intake by supplementation before you sleep to help you relax more. You may also do other things to lower your cortisol, it can also be the reason why you aren’t getting enough sleep. Eating right and going to the gym can help this, but taking ashwagandha helps reduce your cortisol levels.

I don't think I need any supplements to reduce cortisol since I don't really struggle with stress impacting my sleep
