mine said I can take it off after a day but I'll wear it longer for optimal results tbh

btw what do you think the main purpose is? does it actually have any effect on the outcome or is it just to keep down swelling and fluid build up?

It is to limit swelling. After liposuction you have all these holes like swiss cheese going through your fat layer. If this fills with too much fluid or blood (seroma or hematoma) it will become rough scar which could be felt or seen causing contour irregularities
