My voice personally deepened (slightly) after a couple of years.
Difference between cigs and straight tobacco is:

• Cigs cost more
• Cigs last less when smoking (Wind "smokes" it)
• Cigs stink WAY more
• Straight tobacco is less harmful
• Straight tobacco tastes WAY better if you roll it yourself
• Straight tobacco is cheaper

Also, vapes are way less harmful... But don't really do anything regarding the voice deepening/not as much as cigs and straight tobacco.
