Uh, defo no expert, but you really have to be careful coming off oral. Once you've got the results you want, you have to taper off carefully and ensure you switch to topical. I've heard something like alternate everyday between your dose and half that (2.5mg Monday, 1.25mg Tuesday, 2.5mg Wednesday...), but only after you've been using topical for several weeks. EDIT: Then move to 1.25mg after several weeks of alternation. Again, I'd be really careful, supposedly because it pushes you into shedding phase once you come off.

I was thinking a year of 2.5mg, then 3 months of alternating 2.5mg and 1.25mg, then 3 months of 1.25mg and finally quitting after that?

Maybe bro, but it's tricky, wish you luck with it though. Have you checked if you're even experiencing negative sides? It could be you aren't experiencing real strain. You'd need to do an ultrasound on your heart to measure the thickness of your left ventricle, and other tests; it could be you tolerate it really well and could be on it for life...

I just don’t want to deal with the hassle of having to take it forever

Assuming I can just get the benefits of regrowth and it stays

Yeah, I hear you. You can always jump back on it if your taper doesn't work - make sure you microneedle regardless, with a stamp or a pen (no rollers).

Yeah that's calm. Again, if you're worried about longevity, there are tests you can order to check if you're tolerating the oral treatment well or not; if you are, it's just another pill you take in the morning (assuming you're already on a stack).
