why did u learn german, such a disgusting language imo
I had to learn a foreign language as a part of my degree. Also DACH countries>>>The rest so i picked german. I thought if I was learning german I might aswell learn it properly and go all the way to make it another life skill so I went all out on learning german.

German grammar is more complex compared to english. Four cases (nominative, accusative, dative, genitive) and three genders but german is quite useful. Germany is an economic powerhouse with so many opportunities. Austria, Switzerland and even netherland also speak german all very developed countries while spanish is mostly spoken in poor south america

Best way of course would be to live there for six months.

Learning grammar and vocab 20 minutes a day + listening to Spanish radio for a year would do a lot.

Use that lingua Omegle type app (can’t remember its name) to talk to random Spanish people.

Italian and French sound the best imo. All words are just long vowel sounds and spoken in a rhythm. The only non native english accents that sound good imo are italian and french accents of english

Learn 20 new words a day
And the half an hour to grammar.

Spend the rest exposing yourself to Spanish media.

There are so many good resources now.

You’ve got an app that takes foreign movies and shows the subtitles, highlighting the words as they’re being said.

Really good.

Yes media exposure is so important.
I remember getting top grades in French but struggling with French radio and films.

Listened to the radio every day for a month and it went from “bla bla bla mountains” to “it is snowing in the Pyrenees at 5 pm today”

And I was like “oh it’s the weather forecast!”

Best thing you can do is change your device's language to Spanish.

You have to be careful with the kind of media you consume tho. German movies are sometimes in regional dialects that are hard to understand and unlike in English where it is just pronunciation different. German dialects are distinct they are the same language but they are entirely new words, grammar rules etc. German rap also contains many slangs arabic and turkish words. All of this confused the heck out of me when I first started learning tbh. I'd imagine it is the same thing with spanish too since it is a global language with pop culture industry behind it.

I don’t know anything about German.
I can only say that French dialects are relatively homogenous.
