How many before and afters do you have to see before confirming your surgeon has a good eye for aesthetics

want to confirm that my Bimax surgeon is blackpilled and won't give me minor movements just to fix occlusion and airways.

he has shown me 1 before and after, but should I ask to see more? I was thinking I would have to see at least 5 before confirming that I want to go with him and that he is indeed blackpilled

very important as I have heard that surgeons can change movements on the operating table to get a better result, and I need to know I can trust him

exactly. I am very hesitant to seem pushy/demanding as well, they wouldnt like that

but I don't know if I'd be happy with myself for trusting a surgeon without a good enough reason if the result turned out to be pretty bad

when I asked my surgeon to show me more than the 1, he told me to come back for another appointment, as he has to get the before and afters ready

unsure why though as he would most likely have them all in some folder on his laptop

im scared that surgeons only cherrypick good results and dont show the bad ones. the patient would have an overly positive expectation for the result and can be easily disapointed if the surgeons result doesnt meet his earlier expectations. also when asking surgeons about risks and complications, im not always sure if they say the full truth. they may lie to make the patient feel more comfortable.

If my money and face were on the line i'd look at as many as I could find close to 100 and I would have to like at least 51 of them(majority)

i am very sure they lie about complications. I asked one if he had any really bad complications and he hesitated when he said no and just got kinda uncomfortable

although I guess I shouldnt have asked that. any surgeon who has operated on enough patients will have had severe complications at one point

and yeah that explains why he wanted me to come back at a later time. tbf I asked him to show me patients who look similar to me, and he said that it might take some time to find because he treats so many patients.

but like you said, could be just so they can find similar patients who happened to have the best outcomes

I am going to a surgeon in regular hospital next month and I'm afraid that they don't show before after pics there.

Doesn’t he have a gallery?
And yes surgeons do adjust mid surgery. Planning is a rough estimate. In the end the surgeon makes or breaks your face so you should be sure the surgeon is actually on the same page as you.

why don’t you Tell him that you have aesthetic concerns and would like to see some more of his work. If the results don’t satisfy you go to a different one
