It sounds like a very high IQ high class language to me

German is my mother tongue (well, technically Swiss-German is a separate language but, to give you an idea, I was basically fluent in standard German by the time I entered primary school), my English is flawless, in my region of Switzerland you start to learn French in school in fifth grade, though I was terrible at it until I picked it up myself. I am now at a level where I understand what's going on in a TV-show if subtitles are activated and I can understand texts quite well without a dictionary. I also taught myself Spanish to a similar level but I'm still less experienced with that language. And lastly, I taught myself Portuguese to almost the level as Spanish because it's so easy to learn when you know French and Spanish.

Also started learning Japanese a few weeks ago
