how much are cheap cars in USA?

I was entertaining the idea of driving across america on some mad random adventure maybe next year. I don't wanna pay rental fees so maybe buying a cheap car and throwing it away at the end would be a good idea?

maybe sell it very cheap at the end or drive it off a cliff into the sea (not with me inside obv) and fly home.

In the UK you can buy a serviceable car that works for a few hundred, Is it the same in the USA?

Yeah if you’re fine with driving a soy fag car like a Japanese hatchback or sedan, you could get it for a couple gs with a couple hundred thousand miles on it. Let me have it after tho
