How much can poor enviromental factors really contribute to recession?

I was looking at my parents, neither of them have a recessed lower or upper maxilla, whilst mine and my sisters maxilla is recessed.
same with my infras my dad has mogger infras, my mums are like average, but mine are recessed.

was this due to genetic recombination or lifestyle factors? Since i didnt start mewing till like i was almost 17 and had poor tongue posture due to tongue tie, but i still breathed through my nose, besides at night, and i slept little, and ate poorly. Enviromental factors sound like cope, but idk

Or your just too young at age 40-50 your parents have leaner faces and bigger skulls you just haven’t matured

yes diet during dev does contribute quite a bit

would that contribute to looking less recessed?

to facial development?
i assume a healthier diet would yield better results? But by what mechanism would that work, since i was always eating supplements, like calcium and vitamin supplements, but like my diet was poor.

I can't imagine a better diet during puberty making someone unrecessed, i wonder if there is a twin study on this

kinda crazy, how even if your parents have good skulls genetics, can still fuck you up through recombination.
Also likely why some moggers have ugly kids and vice versa

and there's your problem, if you had to take supplements thats a sign you have been limited by your genetic potential

majority genetics, like 15% environmental/lifestyle

Majority of facial development is already done before the age of 1-3 years old

is that true? if so that's brutal, i wasnt able to be breastfed past 1.5 years cause i had a tongue tie surgery

Maybe more of diet your parents could’ve had poor habits leading to less viable children
my parents eat really well still, during pregnancy my mum ate meat, bone marrow and milk.
iwas just a retarded picky eater

You probably developed a habit sometime in your life that caused it to recess.

You likely developed mouthbreathing (and likely during sleep), or maybe some orthodontic procedure caused you to develop a compensation mechanism for the procedure that caused poor oral posture.

Whatever it may be... not being recessed is the default human outcome.
Anything else means you messed it up at some point.

i dont't get what you mean? I ate supplements because i wasnt getting the vitamins in my normal diet (i was a very picky eater), so i took multivitamins, iron and magnesium tablets

Yes i mouthbreathed during sleep, but only from the ages of 14-17, since we got a dog and i had a dog allergy . and my tongue posture was bad because of a tongue tie

but some people can be recessed due to genetics.
for instance my brother had the exact same issues as me but he has no visible recessions (besides radix), idk if i just got a worse genetic recombination lottery than him.

i dont think if everyone had perfect myofunctional habits, no one would be recessed is what im trying to say

I have never seen a human born recessed.
And you will notice too if you go out in public that recession itself is RARE.
Yes, most people do not have perfect oral postural habits but most people aren't recessed.

No supplements are supposed to fill the gap
you still lose hormone support/energy you need for dev without whole foods and if you just supplement them, you can look at weston price's observations for nutrient dense diets to facial dev vs modern refined diets

your picky eating prob caused low intake of nutrients like d, k2, mg, zinc etc from whole foods. by taking supplements you got isolated nutrients which misses synergies of whoe foods

for example fat soluable vitamins need dietary fat and calcium/mg need food partners. supplements are not a very good alternative but ig better than nothing

if u had a better whole food diet you would have had better dev during growth years

i also do not know if this is relevant but you loose out on mechanical benefits from chewing tough foods

You might genuinely be brain dead the way you blindly accept things.

Its mostly environmental than genetic

Diet contributes like massively
It's a cope of people to say "muh genes"
So they don't have to feel bad that they had a chance but lost it

At that point just recombination there’s people who mog their parents and those who look just like them it’s completely a random genetic lottery

i mean i wouldn't really disagree with that, but shit like anabolic signaling in the womb plays a part as well

look up epigenetics
some genes only get expressed due to certain environmental factors

Yes, most people do not have perfect oral postural habits but most people aren't recessed.
Mildly recessed maxilla is common, most people don’t notice it, only major recession is noticeable. Mildly recessed mandible and chin are also common.

This one Milan study found maxillary retrusion in 46 percent of kids ages 5-9, other studies. Most people never know they have a mild recession since they often don’t cause functional problems and appear normal in appearance

a study by the dental press journal of orthodics said
Malocclusion including jaw irregularities affects approximately 60–70% of the global population. I’d say it could even be higher since they don’t count stuff like recessed infras, the average person definitely has some recession whether it’s a mild maxilla, infras etc.

And people aren’t born recessed because genes take time to act too

I should've been clear, mild recession, sure but major recession, no.
And I'm not aware of any genetic causalities to major recession, because unless the osteocytes had a major biospatial error during development, that shouldn't happen.

I'm not sure if biospatial genes are a thing, I'd have to check.

I think twin studies show its 81% geneticsb

Yes, I was talking about mild recession, sorry for the mixup. I’m not majorly recessed to the point where I have functional issues. My maxilla is just recessed to the point where it’s noticeable to people in these communities, my infras are pretty recessed

This is just bullshit, maybe for major recessions but not for mild

Twin studies show it’s 82 percent genetics, unless you were actually malnourished
