2-3 years is a bit more extreme (this is more like if you cant just spontaneously fly out and whatnot), its more like typically 1-1.5

You need ortho work most of the time, and its usually braces because they need very precise tooth movement. If you have a narrow palate, then you will need an RPE, which then does fall in the 2-3 year range.
