How much do your lifts go down when you cut?

I plan on reaching 85kg and then cutting down to about 77. How much should i expect my lifts to go down as a semi-beginner (only started lifting properly recently). I'm mainly talking about lifts like bench press, squat, lat pulldown etc.
Does it depend on how much you can lift already?

Depends on how often u lift and if u increase the weight u lift as time goes by. Cutting will most probably make it a bit more difficult to lift heavier weights but it wont be much of a problem if u dont stop training while bulking

I go 4 times a week and my weights only really started going up when I started bulking. I basically didn't do shit for over a year. I made most of my progress in the last 3 months.

4 times is good enough i think u dont have to overtrain, just stick to the plan u got figured out for urself, have a balanced diet and u will keep making progress

Thanks. And do you think that an 8kg cut isn't too much? I was basically stagnant at 77kg for a year so that was my maintenance, now I want to bulk to 85kg morning weight (80kg currently) and cut back down and then bulk to 85 again.

Depends on how fast you take the cut
If you're on 200 cal deficit you won't lose much strength and probably don't lose at all but you will hit a plateau for sure

Once u bulk to 85kg, cut to something like 75-80 (depends on height). I dont think u should bulk again after that unless ur going for gymmaxxing, otherwise something between 75-80kg after cutting should be pretty good, u would have both muscles being visible and being aesthetic

I've been gymcelling since summer 2021, but I didn't cut/ bulk at all and because of that I made very little progress. I'm basically at beginner level. I made most of my progress in the last couple of months.
My long-term goal is to be 90kg 15% bodyfat.

You can probably maintain most the strength if you train really hard and lower the volume a tad

If ur tall enough to "support" a 90kg body while still being aesthetic and having visible abs (trust me, abs are more important than u think) then definitely go for it

I'm 6'0

The strength loss is temporary, bench will probably suffer the most. The temporary strength loss is due to the deficit, once you finish your cut and you're back to a maintenance / lean bulk your strength will come back easily within 2-4 weeks + you'll be stronger than your peak bulk whilst way leaner

I've lost ~18kg and increased in some lifts, but I am still in the beginner phase.

Some of the lifts will have increased due to bodyweight tho, like squat and deadlift. But even with stuff like cable flyes I've gone up some weights.

Forgot to mention in terms of programming your intensity (weight) should remain the same but less volume as recovery will be slower

Pretty sure the increased lifts are probably because you were untrained/beginning but yes bodyweight lifts will go up / any pound for pound strength measurement, I personally enjoy weighted calisthenics on a cut

Id say maybe something like 86-88kg would be perfect for ur height, but it also depends on ur body type and genetics, so yeah 90kg should be also just fine

They went up : I'm not cutting aggressively and I'm pushing as hard as I can.
