How much does gaining weight make you wider

I noticed that my dad is wide asf compared to me, shoulders but also in general cus he's kinda fat. How much of that is due to him just being heavier by like 15kg. Again he kinda fat and has never went to the gym

of course any weight makes you wider but skeleton and muscle more, and some people just store most fat in their stomach and just look fat not wide
if he is around your height and has 15kg on you, he definitely going to be wider unless he has the skeleton of a 10 year old girl

It will make you wider but people gain muscle without gym so mentioning that is irrelevant. Hes probably a mix of fat and muscle more then you.
