How much effort do you guys give into being more social with randoms

Yesterday i put lots of effort into talking with random people as much as i can to lower my inhib and hopefully improve my skills with women
talked with random cashier about some necklace he had,
chit chatted with a clothing vendor about our travel plans for the vacation
and even demanded the mcdonald's worker to put more oreos into my mc flurry

This is the main reason why girls don't like me because I socialize weirdly and all and I find it hard to talk to randoms or people who don't know me
