I took programming all 4 years in high school but didn't go to university for it. After I graduated I got an internship at a company where they trained a group of new grads in development, they took anyone you didn't even need a degree in computer science. After 2 years I started applying for contract positions and my salary started increasing exponentially. But I'm afraid I'll lose my job with the upcoming recession my company has been firing most of the contractors.
