I've been cutting since the beginning of June and haven't lost any strength, some lifts have actually still gone up, but I can't be sure if I lost muscle.
This is my result cutting from 165 to 153 at 5'8"
You should be fine cutting as long you consume 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight.
