This is something I'm often guilty of
I come up with an idea for a youtube channel/series for example
At some point I become aware that there is no financial profit in it for me and I know I will just abandon the channel and any momentum it's built once I finish making the list of videos I plan to make
Basically I just want the satisfaction that comes with marking the ideas off my list after I've completed the videos having made them because I thought they were unique ideas and I held some positive sentiment towards things featured in the vids (eg. I always wanted to give my concise 5 minute take on X person / topic)
I keep thinking I have to get all of these projects done to tick them off my list to free up mental space so I can fully focus and go all in on the projects that I believe will make me money
But it's like I'm just getting all of the passion projects out of the way first as well as the dice roll projects that could end up blowing up or flopping entirely and result in 6 weeks work equating to just a few hundred people to seeing the videos but at least I'll have brought them into existence is how I look at that possibility.
I had a notepad doc full of ideas and when I seen that I had "2023" in one of the titles I realized I just needed to make this shit asap THEN move onto the ideas that I think are my true Golden tickets that haven't been explored yet.
If I was to just not make the remaining videos on the list and delete it and forget about it, it would get me further in life and remove one more time sapping thing, but there is something in me that just can't do that and have to see the ideas through
