How much of a falio is an ethnic name?

My given name is so weird that most people inevitably garble it up to the point of me basically having to avoid using it, I usually have an alias ready to go but I don't have a clear favorite.
People who do know me just shorten my last name, which is annoying but understandable.
Even my official identity is like this: e.g. my passport and my bank use different romanizations of my name, lol. I often forget which one I need to put down on plane tickets for example.
Would getting a generic Western name improve my QoL? I just don't want to bother with paperwork.
I think I would like a short gender neutral name if I ever went through this.
