How much protein on a cut?

Im cutting rn 1.2k calories a day. i get around 100-120 grams of protein a day. im 6'3 240 pounds 20%ish body fat

Most mainstream body builders say you need 1 gram per pound body weight of protein if youre on a cut. but i dont trust them cuz they're trying to sell their protein powder shit.

Mike Mentzer said he only ate 0.8 grams of protein per KG of body weight, so he only had 85 grams of protein daily on a cut. He looked great so i trust him but he was also on a shit ton of roids

what u guys think?
 
i think you are good with your protein intake. what precentague of bodyfat you want to reach?

Only 1.2k cals could be too much of a deficit and could fuck your metabolism and then make you skinnyfat since you want to preserve muscle mass, especially at your height and weight. Up your protein, ideally 2 x your body weight in kg, so 150-220g since your weight is high. That’s easy to reach anyway. All that really matters is calorie and protein intake, but you also need to watch out for your metabolism.

im 6ft4 180lbs i would need at least 126 g of protein and 1.2k kcal is what a child eats if u do a vrash diet u gonna stop losing weight cos the body will think u gonna die and gonna go in a low baterry mode like thing and if u will go like 100 kcals above what u normally eat ull gain weight immediatly. This said u need as bare minimum 240×0.7 g of protein which is 168g and to not look like absolute garbage during the weight cut and feel shit u would need 2341kcal to lose 0.5 pounds week and 2091 to lose a whole pound but weight is affected by water too so drink elecrolhytes and shit. U need that amount of protein needed is becouse your muscles are made 20% out of protein the rest is water and thats the esimated weight scientists made.
