How much protein per lbs?

How much do you really need? Online I always see answers ranging from 0.5g to 1.5g per lbs. No definite answer to be found.

doesn't matter as long as you're getting roughly 120-150 grams.

fuark, really? I'm terribly afraid of getting them after hearing horror stories. I drink plenty of water too though.
 
ok cool, i'm getting like 80g from my protein shake alone.
don't stress it, just eat some meat, some dairy and chug a protein shake.

the difference it makes to consume large amounts of protein is dismal and letting it impact your entire diet just makes you miserable.
