How much recovery is needed for jaw angle + chin implants or osteotomies? And realistically when can you get back to work? Can you recover enough to go back in a week or would it take longer?

Implants are not that rough. Most swelling will be gone after 2 weeks. Osteotomies are a different beast if you're talking bimax/lefort.

If you're getting Bimax, expect to be out for a week no matter what, that's a week of no work, no socailizing, no fun, no fitness, nothing. After your first week, you can do non-communicatory work, as long as you're not talking, you're fine doing work on a computer. After the first 3 weeks, you'll start getting more energy, but no solid foods. After about the first month and a half, you can slowly start reintroducing solid foods. After about 3 months, you should be able to be majority solids. From there, after 6 months, you'll be pretty well healed, and after that month after month you'll start feeling better until you don't even notice you got it if everything went right. I'd say for full heal from A-Z, it takes about a year and a half to 2 years. After 2 years, what you got done is gonna be that way for the rest of time.

Was thinking bone grafts, or movements. Not moving your whole jaw, just moving the bone to mimic implants. I know genio recovery isn’t too bad.
