how much teeth should ideally be visible when you smile?

i currently have a 8 tooth smile and i just feel like it’s not enough, do 8 teeth fall under the ideal or is to narrow and i should look into palate expanders to increase my smile, 15 and 7 months btw.

The normie range for a smile falls from 6-8 teeth, 10 is usually considered a wide smile and 12 is ideal. An 8 tooth smile doesn’t really make you a candidate for a palate expander

well maybe in orthodontic terms they wouldn’t give me a palate expander, but making one let alone buying one it’s very easy which is why i’m asking because i’m heavily considering expanding my palate because of my normie smile, my 8 tooth smile isn’t essentially bad but when i look at moggers like marlon, archie, chico, and barret they all have 10-12 teeth smiles. which obviously is contributing to the fact on why i want a palate expander, or in the future get mse.

It really comes down to preference, your mouths negative space, your lip width and other factors. If you really feel like getting a palate expander, you probably could get some gains in smile width
