A lot. Knew a ethnic guy in my school, prob 5 foot 6, mtn in face but his voice was low pitched and masc. He pulled a stacylite in high school and kept mogging in college as well

It’s mostly genetics, smoking makes the voice more rough, but not deeper in the way you expect.

You can train the vocal cord too gain more power in your voice and that can make it appear more manly
